Todays Pro40 Match Sussex v Northamptonshire {Inplay}

1st Update
Northamptonshire
188/6 40 overs.
Odds Sussex 1.13
We will wait for small lay of sussex at 1.04 if comes when 125+ runs required any time.
.................
Northamptonshire batting first.Already two wicket gone.
I will try to update when there will be any good opportunity/free lay.But i request all to please post inplay any opportunity if comes.Waiting for comments.
Good luck to all.

4th Profitable Odi In Row And What We Learn So Far

Yesterday P/L +£579.2
What a match it was.Major Flip flops.England 1.16 in 1st inning than India 1.18 in 2nd inning and England won the match in last.
Although i decided to exit when England was 114/7 because i was well green on any result.
Anyway we will discuss in brief match events. In first inning India looking in trouble most of the time and 220+ was looking difficult.Second inning as i mentioned in inplay that in low chase we may have bat team in short odds early and that is good for trading.Infact we find a 'true free lay' when England 3 wickets down and still 100+ more runs required and that really paid us.Why it was great free lay?
1.It may go to 1.0x zone but only 1 wicket will bring it up in 1.1x zone again.
2.Spinners over remaining.
3.After 3 wickets down gates are opened. If you lay any bat team in 1.1x zone when there is 40/0 and target is 220 then there are less chances than 40/2 to odds to drift.
What we learn so far:
1.Back bowl team in high chase in 2nd inning on good odds are worth.
2.Low chase we may find some good opportunities when there are 3 or 4 wickets down.
3.Prematch free lays:We find two in four odi so far and that was in 2nd and 3rd and the logic is same again that when almost equal teams are playing there may be market over reaction prematch due to last match result and one team become short without any genuine reason.

In last the most important thing which will remain forever is 'selection, entry time and exit point' in each and every match.
And so far it is true that 2nd inning is always good to enter unless there is any good free lay in 1st inning.

P.S: Good Opportunities When Comes Please Share Them.

4th Odi,England v India{Inplay}

Last Update:
England 114/7 24 ovr
Odds India 1.18
Nothing to say, close tv,computer and go to sleep. We all are in profit so no need to take any risk.
Good Night to all.

..............
3rd Update
England 53/3 10overs
Odds England 1.34
Wait England 80/3 at
1.1x zone if comes to lay as free lay and for good trading opportunity lay England 1.25 after some time.

..................
2nd Update
India 212 allout
Odds England 1.20
First low scoring match in this series.
We have seen before that for good trading opportunities and free lay either high scoring or low scoring matches are always worth.
And our plan is:
1.Lay England 1.0x zone in 1st 10 overs if comes as free lay.
2.Lay England in 1.1x zone after 3 wickets and "100+ Runs" required situation.
3.Back England 1.6+ after 2 quick wickets in start if comes.

....................
1st Update:
India 45/3 15 overs.
Odds England 1.3
Now our planning is to lay England 1.4 if india will around 80/3 from now on.
And again wait for 2nd inning for good opportunities if England chase low score.
....................
I just returned from work,so sorry for late post.India won the toss and elected to bat.Already one down.
Odds England 1.6
We will wait and see 15 over than there will be 1st update after analysing condition.

Small Profit But Happy

Yesterday P/L +£48.7
It is small than 2nd odi although it was same match trading wise as first two matches.(wait for bowling team in 1.9+ odds in second inning as good trading opportunity and also find good free lays prematch and inplay)
But i'm happy to see that our trading strategy hit once again. Those who are following us are in good profit.I had small stakes than 2nd Odi in this match and as i don't want any risk towards the end of month.

3rd Odi,England v India {Inplay}

3rd Update: Innings Break
England 281/8 50 ovr
Odds England 1.88
These are already good odds of England to back, but as i said many times in the past that watch market more than match. And by seeing these odds we can assume if India do well in first 10 overs than we may get good odds to back England.
And our plan will be:
1.Lay India anytime at 1.4 if comes as free lay.
2.Back England 2.5 if comes in first 15 over after 1 wicket as good trading opportunity.
3.Lay England at 1.4 if India 2/3 wickets down early.
Basically what we see in last two matches may be going to repeat here.
P.S:
Our free lay of England around 1.6 in 1st inning already set us in good profit so my advise is to be carefull in 2nd inning and only involved when you see any good opportunity.
...................
2nd Update
England 211/4 42 ovr
Odds England 1.85
Now assume what will be odds if England make 310,290,270
Confusing so it will be better to stay away till 2nd inning.
.....................
1st Update:
England 82/1 15 overs
Odds England 1.7
Good start before 1st wicket England touched 1.59 and 1.75 after wicket.
Now what to do,our plan must be to wait and see before spin bowlers come. And lastly it is again looking a good 2nd inning trading match.
...........................
Hello Good morning to all.Odds India 1.93
India won the toss and elected to bowl first.Flintoff,Agarkar out and Monty,Jaheer in.Our prematch free lay doing well.
Our game plan will be to back india 2.3 if comes in 1st 15 overs as good trading opportunity.
Free lay:Will it be around 1.6 England any time in 1st inning as previous game was high scoring.
Good luck to all.

Sunday, August 26, 2007

3rd Odi,England v India Prematch Odds: England 1.89 Is it another prematch free lay?

Very small post.I'm laying England and hoping if india bat first it will drift because of last match result and if England bat first it will not cut more because of dew factor. And in between toss and this post time it may go upward if flintoff will not play.
Wish me good luck.

Good profit on 2nd Odi by sticking to our basics

Yesterday P/L +£813.1
It was touchwood a rare day that everything went our way.2nd odi was really a trader's dream match.
From prematch freelay or inplay freelay to good trading opportunities.
But no doubt luck always play part.(fingers crossed)
1st i want to review our prematch freelay:
England odds cut to 1.67 after the news of illness in India team.As i posted before match that it may not go downward further and every chance of upward move is more. And i was 200 green on any team before start of match.Yes toss was vital but if odds was something like 1.95 for England it may not drift more than 1.67 odds prematch
Inplay Trading:
In 1st inning there was little chance of trading opportunity.
2nd inning, again it was like previous match.High chase and only wait for 1.8 or more odds of bowling team(India) to back but i was worried at one stage when 70 quick runs scored by England. At that time i cover some of my liabilities and when after two wickets india odds reach again in 1.7 zone i back them.Rest all you know because i think i posted a lengthy inplay post yesterday.
P.S:
In recent years i remember only one match in which chasing team won over 310+ score easily. In this match bowling team(England) odds drifted one way.It was Srilanka against England somewhere around 2005 in Natwest series when jayasurya hit England bowlers badly.Other matches in which team chase more than 310+ and won was Newzealand against Australia twice recently but not won comprehensively like Lanka so i was confident on India win and sure that if i back them on 1.8 and more i may get chance any time to lay them in 2.1 in worst scenario but i was cautious and alert in 2nd inning and had money management plan to bail out if England chase exceptionaly well.I will post my monthly and since start of blog P/L in next post.

2nd Odi,England v India {Inplay}

Last Update
England 116/2
Odds India 1.6
Well if you like to trade upto last ball then my opinion is do it very carefully because market may volatile towards end and only plan should be to lay lower odds(1.2x zone) of any team at that time if sufficient overs remain and my golden advise is to avoid back England (batting team) in low odds specially after 3/4 wickets.
bye bye
Good night to all.
................
3rd Update
England 89/2 14 overs
Couple of wickets and India odds cut 0.5 on each wicket. This was perfect high chase trading strategy.Well i think every one cleared there position now and if not wait and see if india again available at 1.8 or more anytime.
...................
2nd Update
India 329 in 50 overs.
Odds India 1.43
Will market show same confidence in 2nd inning like 1st odi for chasing team in start.
Means will India available at 1.8 if England 50/0 in 7 overs. If yes then it may be again good trading opportunity to back India at there odds.Free lays will also be same that lay England 1.6 if comes any time.
...................
1st Update 4:00 pm
India 100/0
Will india at 1.5x is free lay?
Think over it while taken consideration that at 300/50 overs what will be indian odds.
.................
India won the toss and elect to bat first and odds are
England 1.83
First look at our prematch free lay of England(mentioned in last post) at 1.68 it is going well although toss impact is more on this.
So what is our plan now.I think back England for some now and wait if England available at 2.1 in first 15 over then we may consider to back again.
P.S:Teams you all know and i reckon munaf good economical bowler and tremlett 'lethal' bowler.

2nd Odi,England v India Prematch Odds England 1.67 'Is It Prematch Free Lay?'

After look at odds today morning i wondered why England odds shorten to 1.67.
Then after checking cricinfo and market move center at bettingzone i find that five Indian players caught cold. But still

after check ground records and weather i am laying England although not heavily and hoping it will not shorten much before start and chances of upward move is more.

Match market vs Other markets

Just a little discussion on match odds market and other markets like in cricket session (15,30 overs score) or spreads, loss of wickets etc.
Well my experience is bitter most of the times on this markets whenever i tried them with match win market.
The reasons may be:
1.Whenever i tried other markets my match market effected most of the times heavily.
2.These other markets are just like lottery and there is very little scope or your skills.
3.But yes i admit that whenever i tried other markets and the same time not involved in match market than results are some better.
4.I even read somewhere that bookmakers also says that these other markets are most profitable to them in long term than match odds markets.

So on the whole my advise is that we should always try to not involved on these markets.

Waiting for your comments on this topic.

1st Odi,England v India {Inplay}

2nd Update:
England 288/2 50 overs
Odds England 1.63
Market showing so much confident in Indian batting line up.
As i said earlier i am not trading this match because of self restriction on myself but no doubt:
1.Back England at 1.9 any stage from now on is good trading opportunity.
2.Lay india if comes
1.6 Silver free lay
1.4 Golden free lay
1.2 Platinum free lay
and yes if all these comes after 3 wkts even more potent.
....................
Update: England 146/1 in 30 overs.
Odds England 1.5
Wow looking a second inning cracker for trading and free lays.
.....................
England 16/0 in 4 overs
Odds India 1.98
Trading wise it will be better to back india 2.4 if comes in first inning under 25 overs.

Natwest Series 1st ODI,England v India

Hello and Good Morning,Afternoon or Evening wherever you are.
Today is the 1st Odi in Southhampton.Sorry for small post today for the reason than busy days and also want to involved after first match.

Monday, August 20, 2007

Glamorgan v Yorkshire{Inplay} 20 August

Update Glam 129/35 overs
Odds York 1.09
Now remember basic that we can find free lays opportunities more in high or low score chases. So keep an eye on York odds specially in first 5 over if they don't lose wicket or after 3 wickets with consideration of runrate required.
....................
Glamorgan 18/4 10ovr
Odds York 1.09
Well only interest is to see if York chase 130+ at 1.02

Today Pro 40 Matches Which will be better for trade and free lays?

Today is three Pro40 matches. But to choose which one to involved is difficult.I will try to involve in following:
1.Less weather threat match.
2.The match in which short odd or favourite team will bat first.(first inning)
3.Either high or low chase match.(second inning)
In brief it is wait and watch plan.

2.Free lay:If hamps bat first and there odds comes to 1.4x zone in 30 overs we may consider to lay them.

3rd Test England/India Day 3,Cracking Days Ahead And Our Plan

We saw yesterday good batting display by Indian tail.
During first 2 days there was not much trading opportunities in the market except a free lay of Draw around 1.6 and it is doing well. But from now we may find some good trading and free lays opportunities.

1.Trading opportunities:
Lay Draw or India around 1.5 and then wait.

2.Free lay:
Is it Draw or India anytime if comes around 1.2x zone?
Waiting for your comments.
Lastly don't forget our basics and follow them strictly like Selection of match, selection of time to enter in that match and Exit point as well as money management.Good luck to all.

Friday, August 10, 2007

Update 3rd Test,Day 2 Lunch

India 429/6 at lunch
Odds are England 13,India 2.64,Draw 1.81
Today Draw moving around 1.7 to 1.9
Post lunch it may shorten rapid as Indians now want to be safe and we may see negative approach from them.

3rd Test England/India 2nd Day,Predictions

Hello and Good Morning,Afternoon,Evening wherever you are(lol Cricinfo style).
Yesterday we predicted Draw around 1.6 as free lay but it never comes. So was England around 7.2 bit value to back,Infact England price drifted to 15 then after 2 quick wickets shorten to 5 if anyone traded on England price must be in profit.
Anyway before start of day2 we try to look what opportunities we may have:
India 316/4 at close of 1st day and odds are England 7.4,India 2.9 and Draw 1.88
1.Free lay:It will be Draw again below or around 1.6

2.Trading opportunity:India around 3.5 if comes when England comes to bat.
Lastly chances of Draw in this test is less because weather is fine and last two days will be dominated by bowlers i think and only one inning below 200 generally enough for result in test match also England is still very much in the game As the ball is new they can bowled out india on day 2 around 380.And then make 450+ than out india cheaply in 2nd inning (My Wild Imaginations).
So don't back Draw and India heavily. It is my opinion, waiting for your comments on day 2 and likely outcome of match.

Thursday, August 9, 2007

3rd Test England/India 1st Day,Lunch

First sorry for delay post as today we miss our homework for 3rd test but at lunch now we can see market mood and other key points.India won the toss and elected to bat first at lunch Indians are 117/1
Odds are England 7.2,India 3.15,Draw 1.81
Trading point of view England odds are of bit value because panesar will bowl most of the overs after lunch and if he can get wicket or two England odds will down.As for our free lay today will it be Draw around 1.6 if comes.

Selection,Timing And Exit Point

Daily P/L +£57.4
Mouthly P/L +£1137.1
Yesterday Pro40 cricket match between Gloucesteshire and Sussex was among few odi matches in which bat dominate ball most of the time.Although it was LJ Wright Sussex batsman who alone dominated Sussex chase. That was one of the best innings in recent time.I was in mid of the Sussex chase around £500 green on Gloucesteshire and £200 green on Sussex,So what went wrong that i finished with only £57 profit and even escaped red on Sussex?
I asked this question to myself and i find that though i plan ok to trade match(As Mentioned Inplay Post) in Sussex chase(Selection,Timing) but my exit point selection was poor.I may ended around £350 green any result.
Exit point is even more important when you are red any result. So i will try to impose some more strict rules on "Selection,Timing And Exit Point" on myself.
P.S.....
Good 'Free Lay' of the match was when Gloucesteshire batting and odds was 1.2 to lay around 30 over.Due to some pending work i decided to trade only in one inning that was Sussex chase and really i missed this good Free lay.

Monday, August 6, 2007

Todays match,Sussex/Gloucestershire,Pro40 Division one{Prematch Analysis}

Prematch odds
Favourite:Sussex 1.71
Plan A:
If Sussex bat first then lookin to lay them around 1.4x in first 15over.
Plan B:
If Sussex chase then i will try to update

.....Update 19:15pm BST

Gloucesteshire made 266/40 overs after winning the toss and elected to bat first.Odds are Gloucesteshire 1.36
Not involved so far in the match market as per plan. Now i will wait and watch Sussex chase and see if they bat well then how much Gloucesteshire will drift.Trading wise it will be better to take Gloucesteshire around 1.9 if comes after see required runrate and wickets at that time.

Huge success for free lays

Monthly P/L +£1079.7
Twenty20 Finals which played on yesterday was not only good win for me but it is a huge success for free lays concept thats why the title of this post is "Huge success for free lays".

As you can see in our prematch homework i quoted "Generally market is very volatile in these matches and early short odds of any team(prematch or inplay) is good for lay it should be basic strategy for these matches" and also "It is my personal opinion that teams are almost equal in this format of cricket".
And we see it in both semifinals and final that favourite teams not among winners.
My P/L for 1st semifinal is +384.7 for 2nd +478.3 and for final it was +216.7
Not going to detail briefly what i do is lay teams in short odds when they were batting and then back them in high odds according to my money management.
Cheers for free lays.

The Final 4th August 2007, Twenty20 cup

What a cracking 2nd semifinal it was between Sussex and Kent.It is time for final now.Our strategy will be same but remember one thing that odds suggesting no clear cut favourite in market. It will be better to watch and then very selective entry into market.

2nd semifinal Kent/Sussex {Inplay}

Sussex after good start just lost 1st wicket. Before Nash out there odds was
1.2x that was good free lay.Watch for more.

1st Semifinal,Inplay Lancashire 148/20 overs

Good to see our plan worked in Lancashire inning. Now 149 is not a big score to chase. Will there be free lay if we have Gloucestershire odds at 1.2x wait and see.
.....Update:
Gloucestershire 72/1 after 9overs.There Odds now reached in 1.2x zone. But i would like to wait for further low odds and see what will be asking runrate after 13 overs and how many wickets in hand at that time.(offcourse waitin for murali magic)

Twenty20 Finals and our Prematch Homework

I am glad that blog is recieving good response. Many asked me that do i trade only in free lays.My answer to this question is that laying any selection means you are actually backing others and seeing value in them and free lay is term in which you are assuming that any selection which you layed is reached at point from where chances of that selection to go upward is more than downward. It is a golden rule of trading. So in free lays you are actually backing others but with a different approach than simple "Lay"
I was not involved in recently played pro40 matches. But after seeing scorecard and historic odds of match played between Hampshire and Nottinghamshire i must say there was plenty of free lay opportunities when Hampshire chasing 214 in reply.Hampshire opening was very good and at 88/0 there odds was 1.04
I like and wait for these situations.Although i might enter in that after fall of first wicket and then lay Hampshire at 1.09 because some gate must be opened. This match again proves our theory to lay chasing team in low odds.

Well now we come to our main topic of today that is Twenty20 Finals. Generally market is very volatile in these matches and early short odds of any team is good for lay and it should be basic strategy for these matches. It is my personal opinion that teams are almost equal in this format of cricket.Brief look at

1.Venue:Pitch type,D/N effect,Chasing records.All these can be find at cricinfo.com
2.Early odds

3.Market mood

4.Key players

5.Money management

6.Weather
Well in brief market mood is to go with Lancashire. And i'm hopeful to find free lays in Lancashire match and again my strategy will be lay them in low odds if comes while they batting/chasing.
I will try my best to update inplay.
Good wishes to all.

Future plan and my monthly P/L

first i want to clear my intention of this blog that it is not for any commercial purpose.I only want to do sports trading in disciplined way by it and if i can help little to those who suffered lot from sports trading losses i will be very pleased.
I personally benefited lot by other blog or sports trading tips time to time which i mentioned in my last post.
I know only time will tell that i succeed in it or not.
Everyone knows it well that only 1% in long term ever earned from sports trading.
But still many are doing it either for earning or fun and adventure.
£1k is very hard to earn and when people realize it they gone to far.
My goals:
1.Try to make this blog like open forum in which anyone can post there free lays finding in any match either inplay or prematch with logic and then others can pick them at their will.
2.Although most of the articles are related to cricket because i like it most but soon try to cover other major sports events also.
3.Soon people start their own group/forum in future on free lays and i will not feel bad if they dont feel need to visit my blog.

Monthly P/L and target:
As Mark Iverson has left a comment
Hi dip,
Thanks for dropping by and sorry for missing your previous comment :-) I've had a look at your blog and the content looks good.
It would be nice if you could include any targets you have or whether you finish the day/week/month in profit (this allows the reader to be able to follow your progress).
I hope this helps and good luck.
All the best,
Mark

I fully agree wit him and for this i copied "The betfair trader" money management of £1k and target from "one percent a day blog" Dont laugh i already mentioned it many times that i am nothing and only trying to follw great blogs and manage them at one place.
For august my target will be around £400.I will regular post my monthly P/L in august events which i got involved.
I will try my best to update regular in any event inplay that what i am doing
also comments will no be moderated so other can post their thoughts instantly.
Future events:
It is really funny that chances of free lays in cricket are more in either longest version of the game(Test matches) or the smallest version of game(Twenty20).
Presently there will be 3rd test between India and England from 9th august,2007
I am looking forward for Twenty20 world cup in september in which i might double my stake.
July P/L:+£754
I get involved in few selective matches and even in those matches mostly i enter when i see any good free lay opportunity.
For july P/L i am only taking those matches in which i was involved after start of this blog. Those were two matches 1st and 2nd test match between England and India.I will first take recent 2nd test:P/L +£422
In this i enter at day three when India odds was around 1.4x.I layed india and then back them all near
1.65.On day 4 i again enter and lay draw when it comes below
2.0 for some time on 4th day(as i mentioned in my previous posts) and luckily after few overs i got opportunity to green by either lay India or back draw at high price.
1st test:P/L +£332
Lay draw at 1.8x at the close of 3rd day and letter back at higher price.
One another match in which i was thinking to get involved was 3rd odi between Srilanka and Bangladesh but after start of play i was thinking to lay lanka around 1.08 after 2wickets but they bat really bad and these odds never come in first inning.
